One of the many great things about moving into a new house is getting to incorporate new design ideas and allowing yourself to adopt different styles.  Our new home in Denver is a tiny, historic, 1800’s bungalow located in Congress Park.  Given the size of our new home we have obviously had to rethink our style of living.  Thank the good Lord this house has basement storage because it certainly wouldn’t accommodate all the pieces of furniture we moved from Dallas.  I turned to my mom – who should be an interior designer/stylist (you’ll see when we feature her home in Dallas in the coming months) – for some interior design advise.  She’s been sending me different elements and design ideas that I can incorporate into our new home that still work well with some of our current pieces.  Very unfortunately it was not in the budget to start from scratch decorating-wise. 😉 After seeing photos of the built-in bookcases that frame our fireplace she sent me some ideas on this Stacked Log Style; which I adore and think meshes really well with Denver living.  I’ve started perusing my go-to home design blogs and as it turns out there are many, many ways to incorporate this look.  And lucky for you I’ve included some of this extensive research below.  I’ll be posting photos later of my personal interpretation of this style and would love to hear from others that have tackled this look.
