An Unconventional Woodland Wedding

An Unconventional Woodland Wedding

Nestled in the Adirondacks of upstate New York lays the beautiful town of Lake Placid; former host of the 1980 Winter Olympic Games and more recently host of the wedding of Major Trevor and Miss Erin on May 1. The bride decided to ignore many traditional wedding norms and opted for a more guest-friendly event. The reception, held at The Boathouse on Mirror Lake, was most unconventional, having the airs of a cocktail party rather than a formal dinner party. There were no assigned seats, which encouraged guests to mix and mingle. Instead of serving a sit-down dinner, food stations were set up so that guests could choose their dinner of choice. This arrangement allowed guests to maximize sociability while letting the bride off the hook with the stress of planning seating arrangements. At the end of the night the bride and groom sailed off in a canoe across the lake in a picturesque fairytale farewell.
