17 Feb President’s Day Wedding Bells
In 1886, Grover Cleveland became the first president to marry in the White House and his wife, Frances Folsom Cleveland, became the youngest first lady at just 21. Despite a 27-year age difference, their romance bloomed when Frances and and her mother visited the president at the White House the spring after his inauguration. In honor of President’s Day I went looking for beautiful presidential weddings celebrated throughout our nation’s history. I love old wedding photos. I have glass cabinet in my home that features beautiful black and white photos of our parents and grandparents. It’s been extra fun looking back in time at all the different trends of weddings through the decades of the 20th and 21st centuries. From the fashion to the flowers, wedding cakes, and hair…oh my the hair.
