Let me tell you how much I love gold.  I love it so much I recently bought a wire basket trash can for my office and spray painted it gold.  And I didn’t stop there; I also spray painted a silver frame gold, some river rocks, and some pine cones.  So there. I love gold.  This is why I’m head over heels for this Gold Leaf Wedding Trend.  And nothing takes a wedding from drab to fab like gold does.  You can use gold as the focus, or use it as an accent with gold leafing.  Consider using it on something ordinary like these clay pots below.  Gold leafing also looks incredible on mercury glass.  For a fall wedding you could try gold leaf on pine cones (like moi) or pumpkins.  I’ve also seen it used beautifully on fruits like pears and pomegranates.  Just remember a little gold leafing goes a long way.  Even a simple buttercream cake like the one featured below gets a metallic makeover with some edible gold paint.
