DIY Beauty Tutorial: How To Apply Effortlessly Beautiful Wedding Day Makeup

As wedding bloggers we are frequently posed with questions about wedding day makeup. Should you have a professional makeup artist or not? Should you wear falsies? Try a new shade of lip color? Go matte or go dewy? And the answer is there are no true set of rules for applying wedding day makeup but we’ve turned to the experts for the very best tips and tricks.  Enter today’s Reel Wedding Video.  We discovered this tutorial on how to apply wedding makeup on one of our favorite beauty blogs Pretty Pleased.  Founder and beauty expert Erica Davidson warns that while you might be test-driving your makeup in jeans and a t-shirt, to keep in mind day-off you’ll be wearing a pretty dress with your hair done – so to go a little bolder then you normally would. She also suggests to concentrate more on the eyes then the mouth, and prefers sheers, nudes and lighter shades over bright or dark lip colors.  When it comes to eyes, Erica says that “bronze shadows flatter every eye color and look really pretty for both day and night” – making them a true winning color palette for weddings.  Thinking of trying false eye lashes?  Instead of using the whole strip try placing them (or have a pro do it) individually on your lashes for a more natural less-dramatic look.  Here’s Erica’s tip for applying your own: Lay a mirror on a table in front of you and look down into it. This will force your eyelids to close slightly, making it a lot easier to apply them on yourself.  You are welcome…now go play!
