There is nothing I love more than a classic wedding with a dash of whimsy.  Today’s Classic Downtown Denver Wedding – captured by Rebecca Stumpf Photography & Shannon McQueen Photography -took place at one of my all-time favorite restaurants, Osteria Marco.  If you are ever in Denver promise me you’ll stop in for their house-made Burrata…it is to die for.  Oh, and a Moscow Mule…also a must!  But I digress – back to this number one stunner.  It’s an urban “I do” featuring a traditional Catholic ceremony, a classic J.Crew bridal party, and lush florals created with romantic shades of pink.  Make note of this lovely bride’s classic silk tiered gown and peep-toe ivory pumps, mixed with modern elements like this feathered headpiece and dazzling crystal belt. This is how to pull off a classic meets modern bridal style.  My favorite part of this wedding however is Osteria Marco’s elegant bar that served as the wedding party’s reception table. {Q&A With The Beautiful Bride}

SB: When and where did you get married?
BB: August 23, 2014 in Denver, Colorado
SB: Did you have a specific color palate?
BB: Not really. We both wanted simple, classic colors (black dresses and gray suits), so we let the pink in the flowers give us color.
SB: How did you decide on your style and where did you draw inspiration from?
BB: The style sort of grew on its own. Part traditional with a Catholic ceremony, and a bit urban meets vintage Italian, based on the reception being at our favorite restaurant downtown. Pinterest was also a huge source of inspiration!
SB: Where did you get your dreamy gown?
BB: I found my gown at Felice Bridal in Cherry Creek.
SB: Who designed it and what did you love best about it?
BB: It was designed by Angelina Bridal Couture. What I loved was that it was nothing like I had imagined for myself or seen anywhere else. I loved how heavy the silk felt and how simple the tiered layers looked; I just thought it was beautiful and unique.
SB: What about your bridesmaids dresses?
BB: J. Crew!  I like that each bridesmaid could pick whichever style they felt the prettiest in.
SB: What did the groom wear and groomsmen wear?
BB: Matt and his groomsmen all wore gray suits with light pink ties.
SB: What special traditions did you incorporate?
BB: We went with the traditional something new – my feathery headpiece; something old – my great grandmother’s engagement ring; something borrowed – my earrings from a good friend; and, something blue – the sapphire in my necklace that Matt gave me that morning. We got engaged in Ireland, so we had an Irish Blessing read by Matt’s grandpa. Lastly, the wedding party sat at the bar at Osteria Marco. Before we were dating, when Matt and I would go to dinner there together, we sat at the bar.
SB: What was your favorite moment of the day?
BB: The whole day, really. If I had to choose, it was after I made it down the aisle and we were sitting up in front while the Deacon started with the opening prayer. I couldn’t help it, but I just wanted to talk to Matt, tell him everything about my morning. I didn’t realize it until some of our guests told me how romantic they thought it was, and I later saw it in some of our photos, but there I was, talking to Matt.
SB: Any advise for our soon-to-be brides?
BB: Someone told us we should steal away a few minutes, just us two. After the ceremony and photos, while the guests headed to the cocktail hour at the reception, we snuck away to a speakeasy across the street. We didn’t tell anyone, including the photographers, so we had about 30 minutes to be alone together. The best part was, our wedding coordinator arranged for the speakeasy to open early so we could have the place to ourselves!
SB: Is there anything you’d do differently if you could do it again?
BB: I wouldn’t change a thing!
SB: What are three words that sum up the day?
BB: The adventure continues!
