17 Jul A Whimsical and Vintage Inspired Chicago Wedding by Michael Novo Photography
We were so very smitten to receive this Whimsical & Vintage Inspired Chicago Wedding. Don’t miss Annie & Terry’s inspiring wedding story and spectacular photos below by Michael Novo Photography!
There are some couples who have that “something” about them which is funky and fun. It’s not every day you hear of couples heading out to a ‘trivia night’ together, or going for a desert style Breaking Bad shoot for their engagement session. Dad as one of the groomsmen? Sure! Annie surprising Terry with a bagpiper playing for their ceremony? Wouldn’t be a proper Irish-Greek wedding without one! We started off our brisk fall wedding at the Sheraton Hotel Chicago. The riverfront hotel allows you to have a great opportunity for a first look right near the river where you have not only some great architecture but also a bit of privacy since the amount of foot traffic is a bit less in that area. From the hotel we boarded our party bus and set off for Kinzie Street Bridge to get some of the more gritty Chicago-style images and then softened it up at the South Pond of the Lincoln Park Zoo. St. Andrews Greek Orthodox Church is located at the intersection of where Sheridan Road meets Lakeshore Drive. While this is easily one of the busiest intersections in Chicago, it’s surprisingly easy to get in and out of the church parking lot. The fun and festivities then continued at Germania Place which can almost be described as a hidden gem as a wedding location. During the daytime you have a nice soft glow of light coming in through the windows and the whole place has a very classic Chicago feel. It’s big and it’s all yours for the day so that you don’t have to share it with any other wedding parties. Good people and good food / drink makes for good times!
